Low temperatures easily worsen fluidity of hydraulic oil and cause water freezing in pipelines of fully automatic horizontal molding machines, triggering hydraulic jamming, pipeline rupture and cylinder malfunction. Proper winter anti-freezing maintenance is critical to guarantee stable equipment operation through cold seasons.
Preheat the machine for half an hour before startup, and only launch molding processes after hydraulic oil temperature reaches the standard working range to avoid aggravated wear of hydraulic components caused by thick low-temperature oil. Under parallel operation of multiple molding machines, flow rate of heat exchange pipelines shall not be lower than 80% of the design flow when some fans and water pumps are idle to prevent water retention and freezing inside pipelines. Ethylene glycol antifreeze can be added to small water circulation systems to eliminate freezing blockage risks once and for all.
Hierarchical shutdown anti-freezing management shall be implemented according to ambient temperature: no extra anti-freezing measures are required for continuous non-stop production; anti-freezing operations must be carried out for shutdowns exceeding 10 hours at 0℃~5℃; protection is needed for shutdowns over 5 hours at -5℃~-10℃; anti-freezing treatment is required for shutdowns longer than 1 hour when temperature drops below -10℃.
Daily winter inspections focus on air pipes, hydraulic pipelines and cooling water circuits, draining accumulated water from air storage tanks and pipelines in a timely manner. Seals harden and age more easily under low temperatures, so simultaneously inspect cylinders and joints for air leakage. Standardized anti-freezing maintenance reduces sudden winter shutdown failures, extends overall equipment service life and guarantees orderly casting production in cold seasons.
